Richard Slark is a director in the energy consulting practice where he has responsibility for renewables and co-leads the generation practice. Richard specialises in the price, policy and regulatory risk in Europe’s conventional and renewable electricity markets. He advises on the commercial and strategic response to energy policy and in the design and implementation of renewable policy instruments. Richard currently divides his time between advising on the financing and valuation of specific renewable projects and on the broader investment opportunities arising from the EU’s 20% renewable energy target for 2020 His clients include conventional and renewable power station developers, investors, financiers and operators; government departments and regulators. Richard has over 20 years experience in energy markets. Prior to joining Pöyry, he worked as an economist for the UK electricity regulator Offer (now Ofgem). Richard has an honours degree in Economics and an MSc in Environmental Management.
